Adult Education Orientation

New students wanting to enter a Four County Area Vocational Cooperative adult education class must attend a mandatory 12 hour orientation/class session prior to entering any class.

The next GED orientation dates are September 20, 21, and 22 from 11:00am until 2:00pm or 4:00pm until 7:00pm. These sessions will be held at 1607 E. Dowling St, Kendallville. Students not attending these sessions of orientation will need to wait to enroll in the next sessions.

During orientation students will be given an initial student assessment test, a broad overview of the GED test and student expectations while attending class and learn some basic computer skills as well. Students will also:

1. Complete new student registration paperwork.

2. Be "TABE" tested to determine academic skill levels.

3. Receive introductory information on the GED test.

4. Be presented with information from WorkOne and have the opportunity to enroll and use their services.

After students have completed the orientation and new class session, they will be able to choose and enter the adult education class of their choice - at the beginning of the next class unit.
